Third Oberon Survey Final Report - Surlong, et al - 4317 PE

The following is a curated selection of primary sources gathered during our expedition to the planet of Oberon beginning in the 4283 PE. It was compiled over the course of a decade of careful survey of the ruins upon Oberon. As unbelievably fantastic as the fate which fell to the survey team as well as the settlement, every prudent doubt was carefully considered and only this ill truth remained. I will stake my personal reputation as a Senior Survey Team Lead upon the accuracy of this report.

It is my strong recommendation that no further contact is made with the Oberon System. The dangers presented by that system are too great. I advise only long range observations be made from a minimum of 1 light year. My team and I were unable to come to any firm conclusions as to the nature of the threats native to the system. The dangers present in the system are beyond our current ability to appropriately account for and should therefore be avoided.

The complete library of unedited records we recovered from Oberon are included in Appendix A. All remaining recordings taken by my own team while in the Oberon system can be found in Appendix B. Appendix C is a compilation from every surviving member of my team attesting to the accuracy and authenticity of this report.

This report is dedicated to the members of the Third Oberon Survey Team who were lost and all those who have lost their lives in the Oberon System.
